Morality is one of the most basic human needs. Accepting any role entails responsibilities, and fulfilling these responsibilities requires compliance with many ethical aspects. Education and research, like any other professional role and responsibility, has a series of principles and foundations of professional ethics that must be followed by individuals. Professional ethics is a type of moral commitment and work conscience towards any kind of duty and responsibility. Ignoring ethics in education harms its main mission. In the universities of Iran and the world, the discussion of professional ethics has been of interest for some time, and definitions and documents for it have been proposed in occupational groups. These definitions have been compiled and published in the form of professional ethics codes based on cultural principles, religious teachings, social norms and related regulations. Therefore, the requirements of professional ethics in education and research can be examined.
